1800's $2 The Sussex Bank note from Newton, New Jersey.

This bank operated from 1818 until 1865 when it became the Sussex National Bank of Newton.

This attractive black and white note features a detailed Vignette of Commerce and Prosperity holding onto a large shield with a train on it and an eagle perched on top. Other allegorical symbols are seen as well with attributes of Ceres and Hope. At the lower right, Liberty reclines on a "2". A "TWO" protector is also printed in gray with an ornate design.

This note grades Uncirculated.
