1800's $5 The West River Bank note from Jamaica, Vermont.

This bank operated from 1853 until 1865 when it became the West River National Bank, Charter number 1564 in 1865. There are only a small handful of National notes known from this bank that was liquidated in 1885. This note is a chance to collect a piece from this bank at a small fractional of what a National would cost.

This note has a bold "FIVE" protector in orange under the bank title and a Vignette of five Cherubs sitting on five Liberty Seated Dollars. On the bottom right is a Vignette of an Indian and a Sailor seated with a "FIVE" shield between them.
