1853 $5 The Farmers & Exchange Bank note from Charleston, South Carolina.
This bank was ultimately destroyed by Union troops.
This note features a large Vignette of six oxen that are pulling a wagon full of cotton. Cotton picking is also depicted in the background. On the bottom left is Elmore and on the bottom right is Calhoun.
This note grades Very Good / Fine with some pinholes around the center and tiny edge tears.
