1856 $1 The Bank of Commerce (Spurious) note from New London, Connecticut.

This bank operated from 1852 until 1864 when it became the National Bank of Commerce of New London. 

This interesting Spurious design features a detailed Vignette of a sailor standing next to Mercury who's reclining by the shore. On the bottom left is a portrait of Harrison and on the right stands Washington. A "ONE" protector is printed in red!

This Spurious note grades Very Good with pinholes and a chip on the bottom right corner.
