This bank operated from 1836 until it failed in 1859. 

This note features a Vignette of an allegorical figure seated by a shield on the shore. 

This attractive note was printed with a fine red tint and red and white protector as a way to deter counterfeits. Photographic counterfeits started appearing but color photography had not yet advanced beyond the experimental phase. The red tint made cheap photographic counterfeits impossible to produce. 

This note is PMG Graded Very Fine 20 with some pinholes on the top corners.
